Three Symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue
I'm going to first explain adrenal fatigue just a little bit.
Your adrenals make cortisol in a circadian rhythm; more production in the morning, tapering off through the day. Cortisol is the hormone that provides that "get up and go" in the morning. Cortisol and melatonin work together to support our sleep wake cycle.
At night, your body produces melatonin that helps you get tired before bed. So Adrenal fatigue is when a person has gone through stress and those adrenals are pumping out an excess amount of cortisol, which causes them to eventually burn out. They get tired like any of us would.
Here are the top three symptoms to watch for.
Difficulty waking
The first is difficulty waking up in the morning because that adrenal is so tired it can't pump out the cortisol.Gaining weight
It's going to suppress your metabolism by binding up a lot of your thyroid, so weight gain is a big one.Being moody
Adrenal fatigue can cause you to feel down and cause moodiness.
