What can you do to boost your immunity?

The phrase “boost immunity” that's kind of a misnomer. So I don't actually like to say that. I like to say that we're going to increase your ability to fight off a virus or another pathogen that comes into the body. Immunity comes from within and your body is well-made.

Your immune system works fine unless it's already overactive. Sometimes you have an overactive immune system, and it attacks portions of your body. So we don't want to boost immunity per se. That's why we steer away from that word. I want to increase your ability to fight off infections. And so zinc is one of those things.

When you have a virus that comes in and attacks, the virus has to replicate, it has to generate new virus in your body as a host cell. So when you have zinc, it decreases their ability to replicate. You're stopping it in its tracks. You're not going to have that overload of virus within your body if you take zinc at the right amounts.

Now, Vitamin D is another item that we like to say that helps fight off pathogens. Vitamin D has over 1400 actions in the body intracellularly inside your cells. It works. If you have a virus or pathogen come in, Vitamin D knows exactly what it is and it can help stop that regeneration of virus to overload your body. So it has the ability to help you fight off these pathogens.

Quercetin is another one. We like to recommend that you take those, especially in flu season. I take them all the time, because you never know when you're going to come in contact with that.
